Do you have an opinion about Kinder Morgan wanting to build a 42″ natural gas pipeline through Blanco County and the Central Texas Hill Country?
Share yours HERE.

To Kinder Morgan:

The Texas Hill Country is one of the WORST places you could put a petroleum pipeline because of our geology. The karst is part of what makes this area unique, beautiful. And VERY VULNERABLE to pipeline construction and operations.
If you don’t care about destroying the visible landscape,
and you don’t care about health and safety of the people and animals who live here,
and you don’t care about the drinking water for two million Texans,
and it doesn’t bother you to condemn and take people’s land without fair compensation…
at least consider the financial risk to your stockholders.

I find the BlancoSTP to be a reliable source of factual information and a group of human beings that act with integrity, respect and kindness.

I oppose the Kinder Morgan pipeline.

~ Jeff Blackwell

We love the Hill Country. Stop that ridiculous pipeline Stop its greedy builders.

~ Roberta Shoemaker-Beale

That is our WATER SOURCE!!!!!
Common sense unfortunately isn’t very common these days.

~ Karen Currie

I recommend that most of the city council members in Blanco get voted out of office ASAP.
All but one…

~ Greg Smith

One can only see how companies like this have trashed and destroyed the terrain of west Texas and towns south Texas. When will it end.
~ James Hearn

Wake up and smell the pollution people!

~ Hayley Fassnidge

Our aquifers are our life source. They act as a sponge and cannot simply be cleaned if there were toxins leaked.

Our eco system is very delicate. Just the destruction building the pipeline would cause is enough! Trees and habitats would be destroyed and it would expose our iconic oak trees to oak wilt.

All so Kinder Morgan can turnaround and sell this to other countries for their profit. Oil and chemicals have destroyed our coasts and now your coming after our beautiful hill country we will not stand for it any longer.

~ Tanya Kasper

Up-to-date information that has been fact-checked.
~ Martha Miller

The thought of a pipeline being built and running under any part of the Texas Hill Country and its precious natural habitats and waterways is OBSCENE.

Everyone who lives in the central Texas counties, or who has EVER enjoyed this area, has a responsibility to fight this. FIGHT!

I’m looking at YOU, Hays, Travis, Williamson, Comal, Blanco, and Guadalupe. I’m looking at YOU, travelers, visitors, and longtime residents.

If you love or have ever loved this area then RESIST! This pipeline affects ALL of us!

~ Katy Lalla

Don’t trust them.

If you trust Kinder Morgan, the latest face of the Enron boys, to keep their word, maintain their pipelines or clean up their messes, I’ve got some beachfront property in the Permian Basin to sell you.

With respect to the pipeline going where they have it mapped, NO!, NOT NO, HELL NO!

Stop them

This is not what the Hill Country needs. Gas and oil stink, they are detrimental to the health of everyone living here. We came here for clear water and fresh air. We are in danger of losing these basic healthy qualities of life. Stop them.

~ Sharon Cozad

Property rights

This is a land rights issue. We are fighting to strengthen our eminent domain laws and protect our property rights.

~Pamela Prescott Capps

We want No Destruction

We want to keep our community clean and free of big oil destruction and politics.

~ Julianne Compere

What then?

I’ve been to town meeting in Wimberley on this. Only half allowed in side and those had to remain silent and only listen to outrageous lies. Not cost effect to go around the Edwards Aquifer and gas is still more valuable water. Once most groundwater is polluted how will they replace it for whole new price?

~ Rick Roederer

Water is worth fighting for

You can say that natural gas won’t pollute our water like crude oil. You can say that “we” need natural gas and fracking creates jobs.
I say that it is worth fighting to protect all of our natural resources from corporate greed. “Water” represents the circle of life.

~ Martha Miller

Pipeline dangers affect all of us

I recommend that the pipeline be stopped from happening in the Texas Hill Country. It is dangerous and destructive for the fragile Texas Hill Country ecology. The tree cutting will spread oak wilt. The inevitable possibility of the pipeline breaking and leaking will pollute the precious Hill Country water and land. Residents will be endangered from possible leaks and accidentally breaking occurring during normal ranch work. I was told today that the pipeline is highly likely to carry stuff more dangerous than natural gas, like oil and sludge. Discussion about why it is needed and what are the alternatives to fossil fuels needs to start happening now. Also, the history of Morgan Kinder is not good! I recommend we all join together, rise up and voice opposition as loudly as we can! Construction will affect us all! The danger of it’s existence affects us all.
~Brenda Freed

From West Texas

We fought the TransPecos pipeline that ran through the outskirts of Alpine and through the beautiful countryside before it culminated in a horrible compression station about 11 miles W of Presidio.
I truly hope you are successful in stopping this atrocity.

~ Kathleen McClendon Griffith

Why bring this here?

This is ridiculous! We are a community of ranches and tourism. Our animals and children swim and drink the water. Blanco has already been cited for the quality of the water! We live in the perfect place for wind and solar why would you bring pollution to our town?

~ Shawn Hiser

Is no place sacred?

Level of difficulty through rocky ground seems expensive & following rivers even riskier environmentally.
More windmills & solar panels, less dead dinosaur juice, a non renewable resource w serious byproducts.

~ Jacqulyn Sallis
